  1. What are the requirements to obtain a Marriage License in the Bahamas?

  2. How far in advance should we book?
    Usually 4-6 months.
    A year is not uncommon for very large affairs. Small private ceremonies accommodated upon request.

  3. What is the payment and deposit schedule?
    A non-refundable deposit of $500 will be required to book tentative wedding sites and continue the planning process in more details. Upon receipt and approval of signed contract a 25% deposit will be required within 10 days, with the balance due 30 days prior to the wedding date.

  4. Can we add to the wedding packages?
    Yes, you can add from a list of Services. You may customize your wedding by using our many services provided. Our wedding team will be happy to assist.

  5. How long does the wedding ceremony last.
    Usually between 20 mins to 30 min.

  6. Can we provide our own minister?
    Your minister is welcome to assist the local Minister/Officiant, however our local Minister/officiant must do the pronouncement and sign all legal documents.

  7. Is our Divorce Decree, Death Certificate, and Birth Certificate returned to us?
    No, ensure that you present us with certified copies or originals, as part of the official (raised seal) application for Marriage License.

  8. Is there a Catholic Priest available?
    Yes. Catholic priests perform ceremonies only in the church. All preliminary requirements to be settled directly with the priest and the church. Contact; StFran@batelnet.bs, or 242-356-3008.

  9. Will it cost extra to use a church?
    It varies with churches.

  10. Are Rabbi's available, and can we bring our own?
    Presently, there is no Rabbi available, however, we can bring one in at an extra cost

  11. If there are no guests, only the bride and groom, do we need witnesses?
    Yes. Upon request they can be added.

  12. What happens if it rains on the wedding day?
    There will be a weather call at least 3 hrs prior to the wedding.
    We will have an indoor back up plan. Once moved to backup location, if you decide to move, it will be at an additional fee. If the decision is made before the set up, there is no additional charge.
